About the Role As a SEMH Teaching Assistant - Secondary , you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant Support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in their academic and personal development.
Teach a range of subjects to students aged 11-16 .
Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
Implement individualized support plans and strategies.
Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions.
Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed.
Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant Relevant qualifications in supporting students with special educational needs (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support (desirable but not essential).
