This is fixed term post of 12 months.
As an integral member of Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS) the post holder will work in partnership demonstrating compassionate caring behaviours to fulfil the key functions of the service.
The post holder will carry a caseload of alcohol and drug patients and perform nursing duties for all service users.
The post holder will also:support the duty teamcarry out all routine mental health assessments required for psychology referralsand any urgent mental health assessmentsbuvidal clinicrequested bloods for any patient and any other nursing duties including harm reductionInjecting Equipment Provision (IEP)BBV testing and wound care.
The post holder will be responsible for assessment, formulation, implementation and evaluation of programmes relating to alcohol and drug recovery using a strength-based recovery focused approach to care that proactively involves the person and family.
Defining the level of need of problematic alcohol and/or drug use patients and providing a range of information and education regarding treatment and support available.
The post holder should have a working knowledge and be able to contribute to the delivery of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards, NHSGGC board wide ADRS Alcohol Recovery Pathway and NHSGGC board wide ADRS nursing work plan.
As part of the nursing cohort the post will contribute to the implementation and expansion of nurse lead clinics including Twinrix, wound care, physical health, mental health, Buvidal and liaise with primary care e.g.
diabetes link nurse.
The post holder is responsible for proactively promoting partnership working with patients, carers and other professionals/ agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies.

However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
