Apply now and start your new journey with us Role summary You will play a key role in ensuring a diverse range of projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
This role is critical in ensuring the commercial success and efficient execution of our projects.
Hours of work: Monday-Thursday 08:00-17:15, Friday 08:00-13:00 Location: Garvagh - satellite offices in Coleraine, Cookstown and Lisburn Key Responsibilities: Provide the full range of Quantity Surveying duties from project inception through to handover and final account preparation.
Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions, reporting to the Line Manager all issues which impact on the commercial delivery of any project Estimating Assistance on tenders: Accurately assist in the estimating of the cost of materials, labour, and equipment for new projects and assist in preparing detailed bids including preparing estimates/cost plans/tender documents and tender reports.
Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution including collation of contemporary records.
Raising and recording of all notices as required under the contract, ensuring accurate and timely recording of contemporary records including design changes and model revisions.
Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigatecommercial and contractual risksassociated with projects and manage accordingly.
Reporting: Prepare data and reports to timescales in a format required by line management/clients.
Monthly Cost Value reporting including Earned Value, costs to complete, overhead monitoring and control reports.
Essential: 5+ years recent experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction and/or engineering with specific experience in structural steel.
Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proficient in using industry-standard software for cost estimation and project management including BIM / CAD measure, Cost-X, Knowledge of Tekla or other BIM software would be an advantage although full training will be given.
Knowledge and working use of various forms of Contract including but not limited to NEC; JCT; CECA Strong analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
