Job Advertisement: SEND Teacher – Full-Time – Grantham (SEMH School) Protocol Education is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Grantham , specifically focused on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in the lives of students who require tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons for students with SEMH in both individual and small group settings.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) , ensuring that each student's specific needs are met.
Foster a nurturing, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports students in managing their social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
Work closely with teaching assistants, external professionals, and parents to monitor student progress and well-being.
Support students' personal development by promoting positive behaviors and building resilience.
Adapt teaching methods and strategies to suit the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
Ensure all school policies, particularly around safeguarding, are followed at all times.
Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience working in a SEND or SEMH setting, ideally with students who have social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
Strong knowledge of SEMH strategies and approaches to support student learning and well-being.
Ability to develop and implement IEPs and EHCPs .
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals.
Understanding of behavior management strategies and experience supporting students with challenging behaviors.
Additional Requirements: Full-time commitment required for this role.
Driving licence is beneficial; access to reliable transport is crucial for potential travel between schools or placements.
Salary: £130 - £180 per day, dependent on experience.
