In addition excellent working relationships with early years, schools, health and social care colleagues allows us to share our expertise more widely and create innovative ways of working together to better meet the needs of both the child and their family.We have a telephone advice line and a Schools Therapy Resource Pack and provide training to empower families, pre-schools and schools to support children at a universal and targeted level to develop their functional, physical and communication needs .We value our staff highly and offer full induction, clinical supervision and appraisal, CPD opportunities and professional, clinical, managerial and peer support.We are looking for an experienced, innovative and pro-active children's Occupational Therapist who would like to develop their clinical skills in our supportive and well established Children's Therapy Team in beautiful South West Hampshire.Postgraduate experience is essential, together with a particular interest in paediatrics and a special interest in supporting children with physical and functional difficulties, and a broad knowledge and skill mix.
Good communication skills with children, families and professionals is essential.
Own transport essential.
Main duties of the job To provide a specialist Occupational Therapy Service to children and young people on the caseload some of whom may have complex needs.To work as an autonomous practitioner, in collaboration with health, education staff, children/young people and their parents, to deliver integrated specialised packages of care to children with complex needs, including neuro disability, developmental delay, musculoskeletal and neuro muscular conditions and developmental coordination disorder.To provide support and mentoring to less experience colleagues.To train students, other professionals and staff from other agencies who work with children with functional difficulties.
