The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies was founded in 1985 with the aim of encouraging a better understanding of Islam and contemporary Muslim societies through learning and scholarship.
The Centre provides a meeting point for the Western and Islamic worlds of learning, and is dedicated to the study, from a multi-disciplinary perspective, of all aspects of Islamic culture and civilisation, past and present.
Its purpose-built premises, inaugurated in 2017, combines traditional Oxford and Islamic architectural styles on a 3.25-acre site on Marston Road, Oxford.
As a collegiate institution, the Centre caters for the academic, social and residential needs of its members.
The Centre welcomes students, senior academics and research scholars through its Scholarships and Visiting Fellowship programmes, and runs lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences throughout the academic year.
In an exciting time of growth and development, the Centre is looking to appoint a new Home Bursar.
A key member of the senior management of the Centre, and reporting to the Director, the post-holder will oversee all operational functions of the Centre.
These span Estates, Catering, Conferencing, Accommodation, Human Resources, Gardens, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Health and Safety, and Security.
