As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be paid at Band 2: - £ per hour- Week days - £* per hour- Nights and Saturdays - £* per hour- Sundays and Bank Holidays *All rates are inclusive of annual leave allowance We are excited to announce that we are part of a collaborative bank with UHBW.
This means that if you currently work at either UHBW or NBT on the bank, you don't need to apply for another bank role with the opposite Trust.

Main duties of the job A Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) is a core member of the team delivering personal care to patients and supporting registered practitioners to deliver high quality, compassionate care.You will carry out a range of non-clinical healthcare tasks, under the direct supervision of the registered healthcare practitioner.
Your role is to provide compassionate care, to agreed quality standards and in accordance with Trust values.Please note, to be successful as a Healthcare Support Worker for NBTeXtra, you will need to have a minimum of 6 months previous experience of working as a Healthcare Support Worker or in a similar care role.

Nursing Care Support Registered nursing/ midwifery staff in the provision of basic nursing care to patients by assisting patients to maximise their independence with:a) Personal Hygieneb) Diet & Fluidsc) Dressingd) Toileting, including emptying and changing urine drainage bags according to Trust procedurese) Mobilising, regaining independencef) Rest & Sleep Help to promote and maintain a clean and comfortable environment on the ward/department, which meets the needs of patients, their relatives/carers and friends.
Contribute to accurate written and computerised documentation relevant to patient care ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times fluid charts, food charts and care plans, recording of height and weight.
Assist the multi professional team to prepare and support patients undergoing treatment and/or investigation, maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
Chaperone patients during intimate procedures as required.
Escort non-acute patients who do not have treatment in progress and/or their relatives/carers to other departments within the Trust and other hospitals within the locality.
Be aware of the importance of good health and the health education needs of patients which are identified within individual care plans.
Ensure courtesy and respect is shown at all times.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Qualifications 6 months work experience from within a care setting Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or equivalent Ability and willingness to undertake appropriate training Work Experience Essential Experience of working in a health or social care setting Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Essential Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Able to demonstrate and awareness of health care work and policies and procedures Adapt to quickly changing situations Personal Qualities Essential Flexible and adaptable to change, able to work a range of shifts and moving across wards, departments as the need arises Enthusiasm and commitment to working within health care setting
