Job summary Tosupport the Head of Service in thedevelopment, management and delivery ofan efficient and effective Intensive Personalised Support (IPS) service forchildren / young people and adults who haveenhanced needs and behavioursthat some may find challenging, their families and other the Head of Services absence, you will deputise and administer servicedelivery.
Main duties of the job ABL Health are delivering an Intensive Personalised Support (IPS) Service for Children and Young People across Greater Manchester and the North West.
The IPS service work intensively with families and young people to improve quality of life for individuals accessing the service.
IPS has a highly skilled team of clinical professionals delivering evidence based interventions focusing on keeping children with their families and out of hospitals and residential care.This role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Intensive Personalised Support (IPS) service, with a primary focus on building and strengthening referral pipelines from external stakeholders.
The role plays a pivotal part in coordinating a cohesive team to ensure effective intervention delivery.
This involves working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours.
A major emphasis is placed on actively developing and nurturing relationships with external partners to increase referrals, ensuring the service reaches those who need it most.
This role is ideal for a passionate, highly organised individual who excels in multitasking and thrives on making a meaningful impact while driving the growth and efficiency of a vital support service.

Wewould love to hear from you if you would like the opportunity to work with in aclose team of committed professionals and you share our values of designing anddelivering health services that are: Job description Job responsibilities Oversee the coordination and conversion of incoming referrals tothe IPS service, ensuring that children, young people, their families, andprofessionals receive the highest quality behavioural support in an efficientand organized manner, with families at the centre of all decisions and actions,enabling the client to thrive in a stable home environment.
Develop and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders,promoting a positive image of our service within local authorities to encourageand secure additional referrals.
Serve as a formal representative of the IPS service at conferencesand other professional events, engaging with commissioners and social workers.This involves effectively communicating the goals, achievements, and impact ofthe IPS service, fostering collaboration and partnerships, and advocating forthe needs of the young people and families we support.
Utilise theseopportunities to share best practices, gather feedback, and enhance thevisibility of the service within the community and among key stakeholders.
Review multidisciplinary reports and social care assessments,including SEN, and conduct functional assessments of behaviours, riskassessments, and other relevant evaluations.
Work collaboratively with theclient and other professionals to ensure that the team can carry outmeaningful, targeted interventions.
Act as the Head of Service in their absence to ensure seamlesscontinuity of service operations.
Offer ongoing supervision, guidance and direct coaching to supportteam development, enhance skills, and ensure high-quality service deliverythrough mentorship and real-time feedback.
Contribute significantly to the recruitment process and ensurethat new IPS team members receive comprehensive training to high standards,promoting competent and high-quality service delivery.
Assist in the daily management of support workers and AssistantPsychologists.
Help manage the daily allocation of new cases, ensuringconsistency and efficiency in scheduling, including rotas and annual leave.
Actively participate in reviewing and monitoring processes toensure efficiency within the team.
Provide fair and balanced feedback and support to staff and familymembers, while recognising and addressing areas of poor practice andinstitutionalised culture.
Ensure that all service delivery is reviewed for each client on afrequent basis.
Ensure that the service collaborates with the young person oradult and all key individuals in their life, including family, friends,caregivers, and other professionals.
Actively involve these stakeholders inassessments, defining targets, implementing interventions, and conductingreviews, ensuring that the clients voice guides all interventions.
Share insights and learning from the service to benefit otherstakeholders by developing case studies and utilising feedback to enhance theeffectiveness of the IPS service.
Ensure that all ABL policies and procedures are clearly understoodand effectively implemented by staff, encompassing areas such as behavioursupport, quality assurance, regulatory frameworks, safeguarding, childprotection, criminal records, data protection, HR, and health and safety.
Ensure all relevant records in relation to the young people wesupport, and employees are appropriately maintained and up to date and compiledand delivered as required for/to relevant authorities.
Identify potential issues and take proactive measures to preventservice breakdowns, address complaints, and mitigate various risks by liaisingwith parents, families, and other professionals.
Provide on call support and assistance when required acrossevenings and weekends.
Work flexibly and adapt to suit the service need.
Support the service in promotion and growth objectivesDuties arenot exhaustive and may include any other reasonable responsibilitiescommensurate with the position.

The ability to travel independently across the organisational footprint Qualifications Essential NVQ level 3 Health and Social care.
Desirable Registered Social Worker.
Level 5 or above management qualification.
Experience Essential Minimum of 2 years within a managerial / supervisory role.
Experience of management in an OFSTED / CQC registered environment.
Skills & Knowledge Essential Familiar in the health and social care commissioning environment.
Familiarity with CQC (Care Quality Commission) governance requirements.
Experience working within the health and social care sectorz.
Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues.
Desirable Experience of working with children/YP and their families within a community setting.
Ability to operate effectively within safeguarding procedures while delivering services in a therapeutic context.
