The Role Involved in all M&A deals from due diligence stage through to the completion of integration, the M&A Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be the senior technical knowledge in the M&A IT team.
Working with the M&A team, the candidate will help assess the IT used by prospective companies with an eye for risk.
Upon completion of a deal work then shifts to integration of the acquired offices IT into Azets Group.
The work will require strong inter-disciplinary infrastructure knowledge as the projects range in scope from migrating email solutions all the way through to the migration of virtual workloads, applications, networking and traffic management.
The M&A IT team are responsible for understanding and documenting the physical and virtual hardware that supports the systems, networks, and storage necessary for IT service delivery at an acquired site.
This includes maintenance, provisioning and migration of IaaS solutions, servers, system security, network & WAN management, integration platforms, installing and patching hardware, monitoring assets, and configuring, deploying, or provisioning servers.
The role is focused entirely on technical implementation, maintenance and support of M&A IT projects.
Whilst the role is remote there will be an expectation of some travel and presence at our Azets office's from time to time, which will be required for face to face team meetings.
The role is not customer facing but some interaction with end users and senior stakeholders is required.
Key Responsibilities: To be the senior technical resource for the M&A IT team.
Implement required changes to system in with the agreed deliverable.
Support the wider M&A team with integration activities.
To identify the necessary infrastructure change and create the necessary change requests.
Provide technical assistance to the M&A IT team as required.
To escalate any potential issue to the management team.
Coordinate with the M&A Infrastructure Specialist to understand project requirements and feed in to the improvement of project plans.
To coordinate with 3rd parties when required.
To document and hand over any new systems or changes to BAU.
Help advice and identity automation efficiency that the business might not have considered.
To have a level of product ownership, responsible for certain areas of infrastructure.
Skills and Experience: Advanced working knowledge of contemporary infrastructure, including but not limited to: multiple different hypervisors, storage methodologies, private cloud providers and operating systems Practical working knowledge and understanding of a range of networking and connectivity to maintain a secure and performant network Advanced experience with PowerShell and scripting Good experience and knowledge using T-SQL to make changes within databases Demonstratable ability to understand new infrastructure, software and technology as dictated by the specific deal Good experience of application packaging and delivery Advanced experience and knowledge of operating relevant security practices Advanced experience of maintenance processes and applies them in working practices Advanced experience and knowledge of how to operate remotely and securely Advanced experience and knowledge of Cloud and Cloud Services Advanced knowledge and understands the importance of disaster recovery and how a disaster recovery plan works and their role within it Understands and complies with business processes Working knowledge of business IT skills relevant to the organisation Logical and creative thinking skills Analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work independently and to take responsibility Can use own initiative A thorough and organised approach Ability to work with a range of internal and external people Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations Technical Competencies IT Infrastructure: Demonstrates the necessary skills and behaviours to securely operate across all platforms and areas of responsibilities in line with organisational guidance, legislation IT Security: Demonstrates the necessary skills and behaviours to securely operate across all platforms and areas of responsibilities in line with organisational guidance, legislation Data: effectively records, analyses and communicates data at the appropriate level using the organisation's standard tools and processes and to all stakeholders within the responsibility of the position Problem solving: applies structured techniques to common and non-routine problems, testing methodologies and troubleshooting and analyses problems by selecting the digital appropriate tools and techniques in line with organisation guidance and to obtain the relevant logistical support as required Workflow management: works flexibly and demonstrates the ability to work under pressure to progress allocated tasks in accordance with the organisation's reporting and quality systems Performance: Optimises the performance of hardware, software and Network Systems and services in line with business requirements Communication: works both independently and as part of a team and following the organisations standards; competently demonstrating an ability to communicate both in writing and orally at all levels, using a range of tools and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness when dealing with colleagues, customers and clients during all tasks.
