Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologists to join our North Oxfordshire locality Keystone Primary Care Mental Health Team, working across Banbury and Witney.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills including intervention and assessment skills within the Previous assistants within the team have successfully gone on to train as Clinical or Counselling Psychologists, or have secured other assistant psychologist roles within the NHS.

Main duties of the job A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time Assistant Psychologist within Banbury and Witney Primary Care Mental Health Teams (PCMHT).This is a new post and you will be part of the development of new MDT, as part of the Community Mental Health Framework.
You will be working in an integrated primary care setting, and will enjoy the chance to be part of an interdisciplinary team of colleagues from across mental health services, voluntary and community sectors.You will play a key role in providing holistic, trauma-informed care to people with serious mental health conditions.
You must be organised, self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills.

You will be responsible for carrying out triage and assessments, under the supervision of qualified staff.
You will be responsible for carrying out guided-self help and psychoeducation interventions, under the supervision of qualified staff.
You will be responsible for co-facilitating psychological therapy groups together with qualified staff, as well as evaluating and auditing these You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the design of resources and training, as well as service improvement projects.
Person Specification Knowledge Essential High level communication skills Ability to communicate sensitive information Understanding of the needs of people with serious mental health problems Ability to apply psychological knowledge to interventions for SMI Desirable Experience of databases and data analysis High standard of report writing Knowledge of wider context of mental health care Qualifications Essential Upper 2nd class honours degree or higher in psychology Entitlement to GBR Desirable Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology Experience Essential experience of working with people with mental health problems within the NHS Experience of data entry and data analysis Desirable Paid work in direct care provision (mental health and social needs) Work with people with serious mental health conditions Personal Qualities Essential Ability to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines Ability to interact with people with mental health problems Ability to work independently, reliably and consistently Desirable Interest in working with people with serious mental health conditions Contractual/Other Requirements Essential Ability to accept and use supervision Car driver/ability to travel between bases as required Desirable Desire to explore career in professional psychology
