JOB- Design Manager (Product Design) LOCATION- Sevenoaks, Kent TERM- Permanent SALARY- £55,000 to £75,000 per annum (plus benefits) Premier Engineering is seeking a Design Manager to lead and manage a team of Product Designers for a company specializing in consumer products. This is a key leadership position, focusing on product innovation, team management, and delivering high-quality designs that resonate with customers and market trends.
The Design Manager will ideally have the following attributes: Extensive experience in product design, preferably within the consumer goods industry A degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience leading a creative design team Strong understanding of the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar) and an understanding of prototyping techniques A creative and strategic mindset, with the ability to translate market insights into innovative product solutions Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively The Design Manager role will involve: Leading and managing a team of Product Designers to deliver innovative and market-leading consumer products Overseeing the entire design process, from concept development through to final production Ensuring the team's work aligns with brand guidelines, market needs, and strategic business objectives Driving creativity and fostering a collaborative design culture Collaborating closely with marketing, manufacturing, and sales teams to ensure product alignment and success Providing mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members Managing timelines and resources effectively to meet project milestones Staying informed on industry trends, materials, and technologies to keep the design team at the forefront of innovation If you are a driven and experienced Design Manager with a passion for leading creative teams and delivering outstanding consumer products, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, including your availability and salary expectations.
