Job summary Applications are invited for a 12 month fixed-term Clinical Fellow in Inherited Cardiac Conditions, based with our Cardiology Department.
Main duties of the job The post holder is expected to work with the ICC service team based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital site, to optimise the care for people with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy by supporting guideline-based redesign of the care pathway for these patients and to deliver the benefits to patients of access to all available treatment options within a defined model of care.
The post holder will work in collaboration with the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.The post holder will be required to take part in audit and produce reports for learning and service improvement.
Subsequently, sharing of the SOPs and service models across different ICC centres will facilitate service improvement opportunities across the UK benefiting more patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy including those with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.For trainees with the appropriate skillsets, there will also be opportunities to contribute to both echocardiography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging.

Job description Job responsibilities Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is an Inherited Cardiac Condition (ICC), for which the management options have evolved significantly in the last few years.
Recently published international guidelines and national papers have recommended an updated care pathway for obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy patients which include medical and interventional options.
With the aim of enhancing access to all the options available for improving outcomes in this patient cohort, dedicated work is required to develop an efficient and patient-centred model of care.
The advertised post is aiming to achieve the implementation of an up-to-date care model for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy utilising multidisciplinary input and cross-institutional collaboration.
Clinical skills and skills in cardiac imaging will be important for the delivery of the role.
