Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job summary You will supportour existing team of Clinical Nurse Specialists based in the hospice and willwork closely with health care teams and hospital specialist palliativeteams.
You will provide specialistexpertise and support to patients with advanced and progressive life-limitingillnesses and their families.Please note that we are unable to offerskilled worker visa sponsorship for this role.
Therefore, you must ensure thatyou are eligible to work in the UK without our sponsorship for your applicationto be considered Main duties of the job Work with the Community Clinical Nurse Specialist team Work closely with our clinical external agencies.
Provide clinical direction and support to the CRNs, Day Hospice and Wellbeing Be the initial line of support for patients and families, providing advice, signposting services, considering advance care planning, and providing support in times of distress.
Provide the point of access for other health and social care professionals providing relevant end of life support and advice as well as signposting education opportunities.

Job description Job responsibilities You will offer the patient and families the skills of a clinical nurse specialist in symptom control, social, emotional and spiritual care.To offer advice, support and education to the primary health care team and hospital staff where appropriate, as part of an interdisciplinary team.To work from an interdisciplinary approach to care.To participate in quality initiatives within the department.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential NMC part 1 or 2 and recent experience of nursing patients with palliative care needs or oncology would be essential as is experience of caring for families and patients facing the challenge of terminal illness.
Skills and Knowledge Essential IT literate Teaching/assessment and presentation skills Organisation and negotiation skills Effective communication Ability to motivate self and others Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Ability to act as a role model for others Flexible attitude to working Exemplary written communication skills Effective problem solving skills, with the ability to resolve conflict using own judgement Ability to present clear written reports and guidelines where necessary Experience Essential Relevant post registration experience, at Band 6 or above, in cancer, palliative care or the speciality Experience of multi-professional working Experience of teaching and mentoring Evidence of good communications skills Ability to support and influence change Experience of Line Management
