Your Impact and Responsibilities… As a Delphi Software Developer, your contributions will directly support Poundland's operational success.
You will: • Design, develop, and maintain software applications that meet defined business requirements.
• Provide technical support for internally developed systems, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement process improvements.
• Document technical processes and systems to ensure clarity and consistency.
• Liaise with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and refine requirements for new and existing projects.
• Deliver software solutions on time, adhering to quality standards and agreed deadlines.
• Work with the Software Development Team Leader to reduce repeat support requests.
Skills and Knowledge… Essential Skills: • Proficiency in Borland Delphi (Version 5 onwards).
• Strong knowledge of .NET & C# (WinForms), with experience in Visual Studio.
• Expertise in SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle), including stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Experience using collaboration tools such as TFS, Git, or DevOps.
• Competency in producing high-standard technical software documentation.
Desirable Skills: • Experience with EPoS solutions and web development using .NET Core.
• Familiarity with the MVC development model.
• Knowledge of SSIS package development and file transfer management (e.g., SFTP, JSON, CSV).
• Understanding of test-driven development practices.
