In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the delivery of statutory primary medical services, ensuring they align seamlessly with our broader strategic long-term plans.
You will oversee all aspects of statutory responsibilities for medical contracts ensuring that our GP services are contractually robust and well-positioned to support our change and transformation agenda.
Your expertise will be crucial in guiding the team through project plans, allocating tasks, identifying risks, and making informed decisions that serve the best interests of our projects.
You will also play a key role in delivering additional and enhanced medical services, optimising the use of resources to meet patient needs while considering associated pathways.
Main duties of the job We are looking for someone with recent, demonstrable experience in contractually defining GP services and leading procurement processes for primary medical contracts.
Your ability to interpret complex contractual and policy issues and manage uncertainties with third parties will be invaluable.

Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through a post graduate qualification or equivalent experience or training.
Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this.
Ability to support the budget setting for a number of teams/services across a directorate.
A strong understanding of the relationship between NHS organisations and wider system, regional and national organisations.
Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
Significant experience of co-ordinating projects in highly complex and challenging environments.
Experience of managing risks and reporting.
Experience of developing briefing papers and correspondence at SLT or chief officer level.
Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes.
Evidence of continued professional development.
Recent demonstrable and extensive experience of contractually defining GP services.
Demonstrable experience of leading, and extensive experience of participating in, procurement processes pertaining to primary medical contracts.
Demonstrable experience of interpreting complex contractual and policy pertaining to primary medical contracts, and of managing associated uncertainty of third parties.
Desirable Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment Understanding of the public sector Communication Skills Essential Good communication skills for delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders both internal and external (including outside the NHS) to the organisation, some at very senior level.
