Job summary To provide an efficient, accurate and timely dispensingservice to the registered patients at the practiceTo assist the dispensing team in ensuring the dispensarymeets national, local and good practice guidelines.
Main duties of the job To assistpatients with prescription collections and any dispensing queries.To collectall due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on thereverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patientTo ensurethat all monies received or handled on behalf of the practice are appropriatelystored, and a record kept of all financial transactionsTo promptlyforward all invoices and dispensary related correspondence to the PracticeManager or Senior Dispenser according to practice policyTo operateefficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the practice, with theobjective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastagethrough out of date stock.To ensurethat drugs are stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with theaccompanying instructionsTo ensurethat shelves and all work surfaces are regularly cleaned to maintain a highlevel of hygiene within the dispensary and that all dispensary equipment iskept clean and is in good working orderTo ensurethat refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and tomaintain a temperature control record or logbookEnsuring alltasks relating to the dispensary are dealt with efficiently.To undertakeany necessary work as may be required and appropriate to maintain a highstandard and efficient dispensing serviceTo cover forcolleagues holiday or sick leave, occasionally at short notice.
