Purpose of Job -  As a Graduate Systems Engineer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the design, development, and integration of advanced naval systems.

Key Responsibilities Assist in system requirements elicitation, analysis, and management.
Support system design activities, including functional analysis and architectural development.
Participate in the verification and validation of system components and subsystems.
Contribute to the integration and testing of hardware and software components in a lab or field environment.
Perform system modelling, simulation, or trade studies to assess performance and options.
Produce technical documentation, including specifications, test procedures, and reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and electronics engineers.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and security standards.
Qualifications Required Educated to degree or equivalent level in an engineering, or related discipline.
Knowledge You will Develop Fundamentals of Engineering: Understanding of system engineering principles and practices, including V-model or Agile development lifecycles.
Domain Knowledge: Awareness of the maritime defence industry, such as sonar, weapons, or naval systems, is advantageous.
Tools and Techniques: Familiarity with systems modelling tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Enterprise Architect) and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama) is a plus.
Coding Basics: Awareness of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) and simulation environments is beneficial.
Personal Skills Required Analytical Thinking: Ability to decompose complex problems into manageable tasks and identify practical solutions.
Attention to Detail: Precision in technical documentation and analysis.
Holistic Thinking: Ability to expand knowledge into new domain areas, and work across domains and see the bigger picture.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
Collaboration: Capacity to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to shared objectives.
Time Management: Ability to prioritise tasks and meet project deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Challenges To apply strong systems engineering principles in a multi-disciplinary environment.
