Job summary Provision of technical services to specialist units, Orthodontics, Maxillofacial, ENT, Speech Therapy, Head and Neck and theatres.The post holder is required to construct primary removable orthodontic appliances, study models / working models for appliance construction, examination, teaching aids, diagnostic treatment planning, and scan models for archiving and manipulation.The post holder will be expected to develop new skills in line with experience, new practices, qualifications and modernisation and will also have a commitment to continuing professional development.
Main duties of the job Construction of range of primary removable appliances and development in the production of complex appliances required for all the specialised clinics listed above.Construction of study models and working models, mouth guards, bite raising appliances, repairs, relines and additions.Ensure that all equipment, whether issued personally or for communal use, is used in the correct and safe manner and faults are reported immediately to supervisor/line manager.
