The Teaching Assistant Job The successful Teaching Assistant applicant will join a dedicated team in a fantastic small SEN school in Southampton as a Teaching Assistant specialising in Autism support.
Your teaching assistant role will involve creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
For this teaching assistant job I am seeking compassionate individuals who can implement tailored strategies to promote social skills and communication.
The successful teaching assistant applicant will be given an exciting opportunity to work as a part of school, where your energy and experience will be valued as you play an important part working each day towards the schools aim to meet the varied needs of its students.

The school offers bespoke access to social skills programmes led by a talented therapists team Well-equipped education and therapeutic facilities Early intervention pathways that reduce the barriers and transitional difficulties from childhood towards the preparation for adulthoodThe Teaching Assistant Responsibilities Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils including, where appropriate, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures Support class teachers with maintaining good order and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environmentThe Teaching Assistant Applicant The ideal teaching assistant applicant will be have the following qualities: Enjoyment of working with children Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times Commitment to safeguarding pupil's well-being and equality Honest, hardworking, transparent with a willingness to learn and develop Good literacy and numeracy skills Good organisational skills Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults The ability to remain calm in stressful situationsIf you have a passion for empowering children with Autism to reach their full potential, apply today
