Job summary Are you looking for a rotational post which will allow you to develop clinical skills across a range of specialities?If the answer is yes, exciting opportunities across the newly created Band 5 rotation are now available at Leicestershire Partnership Trust.We are looking for Band 5 Occupational Therapists who would like to develop their skills within physical rehabilitation, mental health and community settings.We are looking for someone who possesses a professional approach, good communication and problem-solving skills, and has a positive approach to multidisciplinary team working and person-centred care.This rotational post would give the rare, and sought after, opportunity of gaining a variety of clinical skills in physical rehabilitation, older persons mental health and community settings.
The rotations are for 9 months each.
Shift patterns differ for each rotation with the Community Therapy team providing a 7-day service, and other teams being Monday-Friday.The successful post holder will be working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team and will be joining established, supportive and welcoming teams of occupational therapists.If you are a newly qualified member of staff, an international recruit or returning to practice we provide a structured AHP Preceptorship programme alongside regular supervision and appraisal as well as opportunities to attend in-service training.For more information please Main duties of the job To carry out the Occupational Therapy Process (information gathering, assessment, treatment planning, intervention, evaluation and discharge planning) as appropriate working with a person centred approach.To work flexibly within the multidisciplinary team providing a holistic approach to meet the needs of the patient and service.To communicate effectively with patients, relatives and carers to maximise their potential.Work collaboratively and ensure maintenance of effective multi-disciplinary communication and with other professionals/agencies/other stakeholders to ensure needs are met in relation to care input, support for ongoing care needs and safe appropriate discharge from services.To work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, regarding clinical work, and with other professionals from within the appropriate MDT and outside agencies as appropriate.To communicate appropriately with patients and their carers in the course of their clinical role, some of which may be aggressive, have challenging behaviours or barriers to understanding.So, if you are motivated, organised and above all have the passion and drive to have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of patients within Leicestershire then we would love to hear from you.
