Job Title Die Cutter Department Production Type Full Time Permanent 40 Hours Per Week Shift Pattern Location Millennium Way Belfast BT12 7AL Job Purpose The experienced folded carton Die Cutting Operator will be responsible for setting up / making ready, operating, production and also routine maintenance of the Die Cutting machine.
They will also be responsible to meet and exceed internal quality and customer expectations.
Key Accountabilities Duties To work with the Die Cutting team and across the Production cycle to ensure the flow of work meets customer deadlines.
Operate the flatbed die cutting presses, often making immediate informed decisions to ensure production planning runs smoothly.
To continuously improve the efficiency of operations and information systems to include signing off PCS with comments or anomalies, ensuring the correct and accurate use of SFDC for all machines within their scope.
Ensure that all Quality Assurance procedures are followed.
To maintain stocks of materials and consumables and their appropriate storage as required along with their cost-effective usage while meeting production deadlines.
Undertake shifts and hours to suit the Production requirements including continental rotational patterns when required.
All aspects of problem solving, fault diagnosis, repair and continuous improvement Adhere to the Companys Health and Safety policies and procedures at at all times.
Be proactive to ensure all inputs are available for the next job.
Recommend improvements and repairs to equipment to boost productivity.
Responsible for helping meet all efficiency targets, improving quality, performing basic maintenance, working safely and performing machine Health & Safety checks.
Responsible for ensuring that work areas, equipment and machinery are kept clean and tidy.
Responsible for ensuring that all products made, and all quality checks are carried out in accordance with Company specifications Ensuring that all duties are fulfilled in accordance with the Company compliance standards, policies and procedures.
Experience & Qualifications Qualifications At least 3 years experience in the role within the FMCG folded carton / packaging industry GCSE at Grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications Relevant qualification in printing is desirable but not essential.
Skills/Knowledge Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed processes and procedures.
Ability to proactively use your own initiative and prioritise workloads whilst meeting deadlines .
Ability to operate effectively and flexibly within a fast-paced environment.
Maintain high quality standards whilst working to production schedules.
Flexible to work cross-functionally across the team.
Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Professional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Proficiency in MS Office in particular Excel.
