We have a particular need for SACT trained nurses and we would welcome informal conversations to inform interested candidates about the Velindre Cancer Centre front line services.
Main duties of the job As a member of the Velindre Trust Staff Bank you will gain experience of supporting/providing services within a cancer specialist Hospital.

You will have access to a number of benefits, including the NHS pensions scheme, access to staff support services and staff discount benefits.The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, participating and contributing to the wider clinical governance agenda including service developments and flexible working to meet the needs of patients.
Managing a case load of patients receiving a range of Oncology treatments and management of the associated complicationsThere is also a requirement to supervise junior staff and teach qualified and unqualified staff including basic and post basic students.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification Qualifications and/or Knowledge Essential 1 st or 2nd Level registered nurse or practitioner.
Degree or Working towards a degree.
NMC standards.
Chemotherapy awareness Desirable Teaching and Assessment Clinical Assessment skills.
Educated to Degree Level Willing to undertake specialist oncology module in chemotherapy.
Experience Essential Evidence of continuing professional development Evidence of experience in general nursing practice Desirable Oncology experience as a student or qualified Critical care Chemotherapy Administration Evidence of Mentorship /clinical supervision IT skills - ECDL, ISCO Cannulation Phlebotomy Chemotherapy administration Aptitude and Abilities Essential Evidence of communication skills.
Demonstrate competent clinical skills.
Ability to be constructive through diplomacy and negotiation..
