Opportunity overviewThe Centre for Research on Inclusive Society (CRIS) is looking for three postdoctoral research fellows to play a central role in delivering the ambitious research agenda of the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) awarded, and United Kingdom Research & Innovation (UKRI) funded, project PARA-MOR.
The aim of PARA-MOR, using large-scale secondary data and statistical methods, is to understand the causes, mechanisms, and consequences of whether international migrant populations are living longer lives in worse health than non-migrant populations are.
We are looking for highly motivated and determined people with a background in migration and / or health research, experience with large-scale secondary data, and experience of implementing advanced quantitative methods.Key responsibilitiesTo undertake, contribute to, and lead cutting-edge research on migrant health.To plan, co-ordinate and implement a range of project dissemination activities that include research articles, conference presentations, and working groups.To work closely with the P.I., other members of the project team, and wider staff at Salford to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the PARA-MOR project.To liaise with global project stakeholders to maximise its potential and impact.A bit about our School or departmentCRIS sits within the School of Health and Society.
The research center seeks to advance knowledge on inclusive policies and practices, informing policy development and social change.
The PARA-MOR project sits within the 'Equity, Inequalities, and Inclusivity' research theme of CRIS, which additionally spans the (CAHR).
Members of this research theme use a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods to achieve two goals.
First, improved understanding of experiences of inclusivity, equity, and belonging across society and its institutions, with a view to shaping cultures, policy, and practice.
Second, improved understanding of health inequities and health inclusion among excluded populations.
