ResponsibilitiesTo act as the subject matter expert for restructuring and insolvency, engaging with all stakeholders to support the achievement of the SME and Real Estate Divisional objectives.Manage a team of Restructuring professionals.Provide support to the Originators/Portfolio Managers where cases are identified with early warning signs and ensure appropriate action taken.To communicate and escalate potential issues/risks in a prompt and effective manner.To report all issues of regulatory concern to the Head of Credit and Restructuring and the Bank Legal and Compliance Departments.Proactive identification of early warning signs in client interaction with Originator/Portfolio Manager.Assess cases escalated by colleagues in the franchise, undertake due diligence, provide option analysis and agree strategy and tactics, case ownership and reporting requirements.Ownership of presentation of strategies and provisions and Group Watch and Group Impairment Committees.Case study assessment to identify lessons learnt for enhancement of either individual skills/knowledge or process/procedures/policy.Report and present on the Credit Risk activities to all relevant Committees.Providing support, education and training to staff on risk related issues.The PersonDegree/MBA or similar business qualification or equivalent work experience appropriate to the role10+ years' experience in business finance5+ years' experience in Problem Loan Management.Deep and broad business and financial acumenSignificant industry knowledge in the Banking Finance market including a deep understanding of lending practices in that sector, structures, risks, covenant requirements, pricing and competition.Demonstrable ability to undertake commercial analysis of a business both in terms of financial and non-financial aspects.Excellent customer service, presentation and negotiation skillsExperience in executive level reporting on strategic initiatives.Thorough comprehension of credit risk management, credit administration, loan production and servicing.Proven credit risk management skills, including turnaround ability within either banking or finance industryExtensive contacts with other Lenders and in the professional community engaged in NPL management.Compliance with all regulatory requirements, remaining in good standing with regulatory agencies.Strong commercial, financial acumen and capability in strategic thinking, executive level reporting and effective business planningStrong customer/intermediary and market insightAbility to work in a changing environment requiring adaptability and flexibility.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport in order to engage employees and gain support of peers.Build a strong balanced and effective team by setting clear goals and expectationsStrong influencing and assertiveness skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of management, regulators, and committees of the Board of Directors.High levels of drive, energy and personal commitment to successAbility to prioritise and manage multiple business needs and projects.Creativity and innovationResults oriented, holds self-accountableThe OpportunityShawbrook provides finance to a wide range of customer segments that value the premium experience, flexibility and certainty we deliver.
