Job summary The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service offers treatment for children and young people up to the age of 18 for mild to severe emotional and mental health needs.
There are 3 multi-disciplinary Community Teams supporting Nottinghamshire along with specialist teams such as Eating Disorders, Head 2 Head, CAMHS Crisis and Home Treatment, CAMHS Neuro, Children Looked After & Adoption, There are 2 full time vacancies for Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (WPs) available.
These vacancies are available within the existing team for the South Nottinghamshire area and North Nottinghamshire area.
Successful candidates will be required to attend a 12 month training programme with the University of Reading which commences in February as part of this post.
You will work towards completing aPost Graduate Certificate qualification of a CYP IAPT approved training in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment for Children and Young People.
Main duties of the job Our core purpose is to work with children and young people and their families/carers, who may be experiencing emotional and mental health disorders that have a significant impact on the child's development and cause distress to the child and/or their carers.

The Children and Young Peoples Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT) is a service transformation programme delivered by Health Education England (and partners) which aims to improve existing children and young peoples mental health Services (CYP MHS) working in the community.

The post-holder will work a trainee as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild tomoderate mental health difficulties including anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.
The post-holder will work with children, Young People and Families with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary.
The post-holder will also oversee elements of participation.
This includes engaging all service users in various ways to gain feedback, participate in shaping services and running appropriate participationgroups within the services.
The post holder will be required to be creative, flexible, adaptable, professional and motivated in all aspects of their role, both in clinical delivery and within the development of the service appropriate to provide support for the work of other members of the multidisciplinary team and signpost children, young people and families to appropriate support.
To work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of children and young people within Nottinghamshire.
Person Specification Physical Requirements Essential Vehicle for travel and work purposes Qualifications Essential Relevant Honours Degree ( psychology, mental health) graded at 2:2 above or evidence of the ability to study at Level 6 Proven record of previous academic attainment.
Ability to undertake the relevant CYP IAPT approved training in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment for Children and Young People (C&Y IAPT) with associated University.
Desirable Educated to Degree level Educated to Masters level Experience Essential Proven post qualification experience of working with Children & Young People Experience of Multi agency work.
Skills and experience of working with children, young people and families around a range of emotional/mental health, behavioral and additional health or developmental needs Experience of co-facilitating groups of professionals, children and / or parents Desirable Evidence of the ability to use and provide clinical supervision.
Relevant community experience Knowledge Essential Knowledge of relevant legislation and documents pertaining to children ( Children's Act, Mental Health Act, NSF, Every Child Matters, Future In Mind).
Knowledge and experience of provision of evidence based emotional/mental health assessment.
Knowledge and experience of the provision of different models of therapy and interventions.
Ability to manage a defined caseload as required and participates in case management supervision.
Organise own work schedule.
Ability to maintain accurate case records in line with Trust policies and procedure.
Ability to be an autonomous practitioner whilst being able to work as an integral part of a multi-agency locality team.
