Job summary Following the announcement of the new ARRS GP role available to PCN's, we are looking for an enthusiastic, newly qualified GP to join Southbourne Surgery.We are looking for a passionate GP with:GMC registration and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) obtained within the last two years.Not previously been substantively employed at a GP PracticeStrong communication skills, ensuring patient confidentiality and rapport.A proactive approach to career development and adherence to practice policies.A commitment to lifelong learning and evidence-based practice.
General understanding of the primary care contractWe are a training practice and have a history of supporting newly qualified GPs via the New to Practice Program.We would welcome applications from candidates who wish to develop a portfolio approach to their employment.Funding is available for three sessions per week Main duties of the job Main duties of the jobProvide face to face and telephone consultations for routine and urgent care.Conduct patient home visits.Manage patient care within the Practice,including investigating and reviewing results, developing care plans and making the necessary referrals.Issue and sign repeat prescriptions,adhering to national and local guidelines.Administer and manage patient queries, test results, referral letters and any other duties as required in a timely manner.Make clear consultation notes and records using SystmOne.Ensure safe, evidence based and cost-effective care in line with Practice disease management protocols and NICE guidelines.Independently prescribe medications within your scope of practice.Review and manage patient medications following the appropriate policies and local clinical guidelines.Work with our clinical and support teams in delivering holistic and patient centred care.Actively participate in MDT meetings as required.Participate in on-call duties if required.Regularly screen for lifestyle factors and support patients in adopting health promotion strategies and self-care principles.
Contribute to the delivery of anticipatory care plans.

Job description Job responsibilities Clinical Duties: Provide face-to-face and telephone consultations for routine and urgent care.
Conduct patient home visits (low frequency) Manage patient care in surgery, including investigating and reviewing results, developing care plans, and making referrals to secondary care or other providers.
Issue and sign repeat prescriptions, ensuring they align with national/local guidelines.
Administer and handle patient-related queries, test results, referral letters, and other tasks in a timely manner.
Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes using S1 clinical system.
Ensure safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective care, in line with Practice disease management protocols and NICE guidance.
Independently prescribe medications within your scope of practice.
Review and manage patient medications following appropriate policies and local clinical guidelines.
Utilise other available clinical and support staff in delivering a holistic and patient centred care.
Actively participate in MDT and care conference meetings, as required.
Participate in on-call duties on a pro-rata basis, if required.
Health Promotion and Patient Support: Regularly screen for lifestyle factors and support patients in adopting health promotion strategies and self-care principles.
Contribute to the delivery of anticipatory care plans.
Professional Development: Maintain awareness of clinical practice developments.
Attend weekly huddle meetings, Friday Lunchtime training and clinical meetings Participate in an annual performance review and take responsibility for personal development.
Engage in mandatory training and attend courses as needed.
Team Collaboration: Provide clinical support and guidance to both clinical and administrative staff to maintain the highest care standards.
Collaborate with health and social care providers to deliver an integrated, safe service.
Risk Management and Compliance: Adhere to all practice policies and procedures, including those related to prescribing, confidentiality, and data protection.
Apply infection control measures and manage risks in compliance with local and national guidelines.
Contribute to clinical governance through audits, peer reviews, and significant event analysis.
Patient Safety and Confidentiality: Ensure patient and carer confidentiality, in line with practice policies.
Manage patient data securely, only disclosing it to authorised persons.

Person Specification Experience Essential General Practice experience: Newly qualified GP (within 2 years) or recently completed GP training.
