The post holder will be part of the cancer rehabilitation and wellbeing team, working alongside the wider multidisciplinary team supporting patients diagnosed with cancer.

Main duties of the job Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) support people diagnosed with cancer by providing expert advice, psycho-social support and information on their disease, investigations, treatment and follow-up care.The cancer rehabilitation and wellbeing team work alongside the site specific CNS team to enhance the services for these patients leading to improved cancer experience and outcomes.The CNS team help to care for patients at all stages of their cancer journey and through a variety of treatments in a kind, compassionate manner.
The team are committed to the development and delivery of high quality holistic patient care.
They play an active part in clinical practice, management of patient caseload, education, research, audit and professional activities relating to cancer care.

Job description Job responsibilities Responsibilities of the role are:Working as an expert in clinical field to deliver specialist clinical services to patients with cancer.Providing holistic needs assessment and individualised compassionate care.Responsible for the delivery of patient-focused programmes of care, which address the complex and changing health and well-being needs of this patient group.Working with other professional groups in secondary and primary care.Providing specialist, interdisciplinary education and training to other staff and students.Works strategically to influence and drive the development of the service both locally and nationally.Participation in/leading clinical audit in own area.Participates in and facilitates/undertakes research in specialist field.Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification for further details.
