Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs?
We are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in Colchester, Essex, to support Key Stage 2 children with ADHD.
This full-time role involves working with students at individual workstations, providing them with focused, one-on-one support to help them succeed academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities for SEN LSA Colchester: Provide 1:1 support for KS2 children with ADHD.
Assist with personalized learning plans and behaviour strategies.
Ensure students stay focused and engaged while working at separate workstations.
Collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to create a structured and positive learning environment.
Offer emotional and social support to help students feel confident and supported.
Requirements: Previous experience working with children with ADHD or other SEN.
Knowledge of sensory needs and experience in implementing sensory-based learning or therapeutic activities.
Patience, understanding, and the ability to keep students on task.
Familiarity with communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication systems.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working closely with teachers, specialists, and parents.
Ability to provide personal care, if required.
A relevant qualification in SEN support or childcare (desirable but not essential) e.g.
CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, Autism Awareness, Makaton, etc Who are 4myschools?
