Assistant Practitioner Or Senior Therapy Assistant Children'S Services

Job summary We have an exciting opportunity to recruit 3 band 4 Paediatric Therapy assistants or Assistant Practitioners, to join our friendly and dynamic Children's Community therapy team working across Salford.
The team includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Assistants and administration staff and provides services to children from 0-19 with a range of conditions, from developmental delay to complex physical and learning disabilities.
The posts are either full time ( hours) or part time (minimum hours) with the hoursto be worked between 8:30 and 5:30 Monday to Friday.
This will enable the successful candidates to agree a working patternthat supports an improved work life balance, whilst still meeting the needs of our caseloads.If you are an experienced therapy assistant, teaching assistant or have experience of exercise prescription, then you will have transferable skills that you can bring to this role, to work with children and young people with additional needs or disabilities and support them to develop and maximise their skills and abilities and reach their full potential.In addition to the teams monthly in service training programme and Assistant peer support group; in house training and regular supervision will be provided to support development of your skills to enable you to complete the more advanced parts of these roles.
Main duties of the job The post is varied with a mixture of clinical, non-clinical and administrative duties.
These duties will include: Working with children in various settings such as clinics, nurseries, schools and children's own homes, as part of the multi-disciplinary team with Occupational Therapists and physiotherapistsUndertaking blocks of therapy interventionProvision and review of specialist equipmentOrganisation of a delegated clinic, care pathways or training offersAdvice and guidance to parents and professionals on implementing therapy programmes in children's every day livesSupporting audit and service developmentDevelopment of therapy programmes and resourcesManagement of clinical and non clinical informationSupport for more junior therapy assistants.
You will work both jointly with the physios and OT's as well as autonomously in the community.The successful candidate will be computer literate, will be required to have access to a car for use for work and due to the nature of the work, we are looking for people who are able to work autonomously and are confident liaising with families and other professionals.A passion to help people, work as a team and a desire to want to make a difference are the characteristics that we are seeking for this role.
