Ingenium Technical Solutions are working on behalf of their client, a Maritime & Aerospace Consultancy based in Bristol, who are looking to recruit 2 x full time Maritime Engineers to work on a defence project.
Industry: Maritime Defence Location: Hybrid Remote working with regular UK wide travel (predominantly Bristol) Employment type: Full Time/Permanent Salary: Negotiable based on background, qualifications and experience Essential: Ability to obtain and retain SC security clearance.
Competent with the full MS Office 365 suite of applications.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply these confidently at all levels.
Highly Desirable: Located in the Bristol area.
Bachelors or Masters Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline.
Incorporated or Chartered Engineer membership of IMarEST, IMechE, or similar institutes / institutions.
Comprehensive maritime engineering experience in combat or marine systems either seagoing or in supporting organisations / companies.
Detailed working knowledge and / or experience in the MOD safety processes such as Defence Safety Authority (DSA) regulations, DEFSTAN 00-056, JSP 430 and the Project Oriented Safety Management System (POSMS) or similar.
Authoring skills safety documents including, but not limited to hazard logs, safety case reports and ALARP justifications / statements.
Experience working with/within DE&S and/or SDA.
Desirable: Qualifications in safety engineering, including, but not limited to: *Ship Safety Management Office (SSMO).
Safety and Environmental Management Training (SEMT).
*Marine Engineering Management Training (MEMT).
*ISO 9001 Quality Management.
*International Safety Management (ISM) Code Auditor.
*Safety engineering university courses (MSc/PGCert/PGDip/short courses).
Working knowledge and experience in the use of Safety Engineering tools and techniques such as Reliability Workbench, ASCE, BowTie, Event Tree Analysis (ETA) or Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
Experience working with MOD safety certification.
Experience working with legislation compliance.
Experience working with functional safety and BS EN 61508.
