Schools Counsellor Belfast (with travel to schools) The Organisation Our client is an organisation offering vital support, advice and guidance for individuals facing challenges across Northern Ireland.
Established in 1999, the company provides counselling to primary, post-primary and special schools as well as an Adults Counselling Service across Northern Ireland.

They are now looking for Schools Counsellors to join them on a part-time, permanent basis, working a variety of hours.

The Role As a Schools Counsellor, you will deliver confidential one-to-one and group counselling services to young people within a school setting.
Working at schools across Belfast, you will support students emotional wellbeing while addressing safeguarding concerns.
You will assess students' needs and provide tailored therapeutic interventions, collaborating with school staff to ensure seamless integration with pastoral care.
A key part of your role will involve managing referrals, maintaining accurate records in line with Data Protection standards and providing safeguarding advice to school leadership in consultation with management.
Additionally, you will: - Promote the counselling service to parents, pupils and staff - Be flexible and willing to travel between schools, delivering sessions during term time and occasionally over the summer About You To be considered as a Schools Counsellor, you will need: - A professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy (minimum Level 4/Level 7 Scotland) or Masters, or equivalent qualification as regulated by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) or the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and from a recognised or a relevant validating organisation - A minimum of 100 hours post qualification, clinically supervised practice in counselling children and young people up to the age of 18 or a minimum of 100 hours post qualification experience working with adults and have successfully completed the Level 5 CPCAB Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People - Experience working with statutory and voluntary agencies - An understanding of child development and an awareness of issues impacting on a young person - To be accredited (or working toward completion, to be accredited no later than one year after start date) with BACP, IACP or NCPS - To be a registered member with BACP, IACP or NCPS - To be able and willing to travel as required The closing date for this role is 2nd December 2024.
