Our ambition within CAMHS is to support the continued improvement in the mental health and well-being of the children and young people of North Wales.
Central to this journey will be the recruitment of additional Psychiatrists who will provide leadership and expertise that complement the skills of a wide range of other experienced CAMHS professionals as part of our rapidly developing service in North Wales Main duties of the job We are looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor to work within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service with a keen interest in service development and clinical leadership to enhance our focus on seamlessly integrating early intervention and prevention, community services and our highly specialised Tier 4 services.

About us BCUHB is the largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health and acute hospital services for a population of around 676,000 people across the six counties of North Wales (Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham) as well as some parts of mid Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.

It is responsible for the operation of three district general hospitals (Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd near Rhyl, and Wrexham Maelor Hospital) as well as 22 other acute and community hospitals, and a network of over 90 health centres, clinics, community health team bases and mental health units.
It also coordinates the work of 121 GP practices and the NHS services provided in North Wales by dentists, opticians and pharmacies.

Person Specification Professional Qualifications Essential Registration on GMC Specialist Register or Specialist Registrar able to take up post within 3 months of completing CSST MRCPscych Approved Clinician in Wales Experience Essential Experience of working in Community CAMHS settings Skills and Abilities Essential Diagnosis and treatment of Mental illness in Children and Adolescents in a multi-disciplinary team setting Demonstrate ability to manage time effectively Desirable Skills in social psychological and behavioural therapies Welsh Speaker Knowledge/Research Essential Knowledge of Children Act (1989) Knowledge of Mental Health Act (1983) Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005) Desirable Knowledge of Mental Health Wales Measure 2010 Personal Skills Essential Excellent communication skills Effective leadership Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team Desirable Basic IT skills (essential within 6 months) Other Requirements Essential Approved training status.
