Unlock your passions at Castle Vets Pet Healthcare Centre Castle Vets Pet Healthcare Centre is a large, single centre, small animal veterinary practice dedicated to caring for the pets of Reading and the surrounding areas for over 100 years and are proud to be the longest established veterinary practice in Reading.
Great rail links, just a 30-minute train ride to London, and its train station is the fourth most popular in the country.
Reading is close to the Chilterns and Berkshire Downs, and to towns like Bristol, Oxford, and Bath.
We have a supportive and friendly team of 8 Vets and 20 Nurses and a fantastic administration team.
Within our team, we have certificate holders in Imaging and Opthalmology.
We also have a ECVS visiting specialist once weekly.
We have been on our site on Tilehurst road since 1972 and our recently rebuilt premises now includes a separate but integrated cat clinic, outstanding in-patient wards and operating theatres (including advanced dentistry), spacious comfortable waiting areas, 9 consulting rooms for both veterinary and nurse consultations, diagnostics room with x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy equipment and a well equipped laboratory.
We also offer completely separate cat friendly facilities.
Our integrated Cat Clinic was awarded the coveted Gold Award from International Cat Care and is part of our outstanding air-conditioned modern layout, including spacious segregated in-patient wards and operating theatres, comfortable waiting areas and a large free car park.
Step into a supportive start Very flexible rota to suit the right candidate.
Full time is considered 40-hours per week with 2 in 5 Saturday mornings working 8am until 1pm.
No out of hours which allows a great working life balance.
We have a variety of experienced Vets with a selection of interests.
You would start with at least 2 days a week shadowing and the rest of the time with basic consults or procedures.
We would gradually increase this complexity and reduce shadow time as you progressed.
We have a minimum of 3 Vets in the building at any time so you will always have someone on hand to support you if and when needed.
