Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Sister / Charge Nurse to join the Endoscopy Unit in Bronglais General Hospital.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and highly skilled nurse to provide professional leadership and management to support the Senior Sister.
The post offers an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in the daily running of the unit.
The post holder will adopt a highly visible and accessible approach, leading by example and empowering their team to maintain patient safety, improve patient care and experience, and sustain high standards of nursing care.
Applicants must be passionate about delivering excellence and be able to demonstrate effective leadership within a challenging environment.
This busy unit can work over six days a week, offering a service to both out-patients and in-patients offering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for adults and also participates in an out of hours on call rota.
This is a full time post, however the successful applicant would be able to work over 4 days if preferred.
Main duties of the job The post holder will combine excellent clinical practice, with day-to-day shift coordination and undertaking leadership and management responsibilities in support of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Continually support and work in conjunction with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, including deputising/taking charge of the clinical area/team in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Provide professional nursing leadership and guidance (in line with NMC standards), clinical advice, and undertake management and monitoring activities to ensure the effective delivery of high standards of nursing care at all times.
Proactively contribute to the implementation of the NMC Standards for education, including the standards for student supervision and assessment.
Provide leadership and role modelling in the development and mentorship of new and other staff.
The Endoscopy service collaborates with a range of regional groups such as the National Endoscopy programme, The Welsh Association of Gastroenterology and the Welsh Endoscopy Nurse Training Network.
