Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant Location: Southbourne Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience) Contract: Part-time/Full-time Start Date: Immediate GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student in a client school based in Southbourne.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to make a real difference by offering personalised guidance to students, helping them academically and socially thrive, in a nurturing environment.
About the Role: As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a student who requires additional support, tailoring your approach to meet their unique needs.
Your role will include assisting the student with their day-to-day learning activities and ensuring they feel included and engaged in the school community.
You will work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement strategies and interventions that promote progress and well-being.
Responsibilities: · Provide personalised, one-to-one support for the assigned student, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
· Implement strategies to support the student's specific educational and emotional needs.
· Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement.
· Work alongside teaching staff to deliver tailored interventions and monitor progress.
· Help manage behaviour in line with the school's policies and promote a calm, supportive atmosphere.
· Liaise with teachers, SENCOs and parents/carers to ensure consistent support for the student.
Requirements: · Previous experience working in a one-to-one capacity or with students with additional needs is preferred.
· A caring and patient approach, with the ability to adapt to meet the needs of the assigned student.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the school team and parents/carers.
· Flexibility, resilience and a proactive mindset to respond to dynamic situations.
· An up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
