Job summary Wehave an exciting opportunity for a principal clinical or counselling neuropsychologistat 8b to take a lead in psychological interventions in our stroke teams inWorcestershire.
The post is up to 4 days.
They willsupport the development of amatched care approach with an emphasis on multi-disciplinary working andpsychological consultation.
They will have substantial experience in the useand interpretation of neuropsychological and psychological assessments, MDTworking, specialist delivery of psychological, vocational andneuropsychological interventions as well as supervision, consultation, teachingand training.

We have previously supported clinicians in the trustto complete their QICN.To find out more please contact Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist Main duties of the job Providing clinical expertise and leadership inthe psychological and cognitive needs of people following a stroke and theirfamilies and contributing to a culture of support and collaboration both in theservice and with partner agenciesProviding direct clinical work includingassessment, rehabilitation and therapy with individuals, their familiesand the wider system, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches guided byclient needsConsultation and guidance to the wider teamand networks is integral including facilitating case discussion and careplanning to support patient goalsContributing to service development, teaching,and training Supervision will beprovided by an experienced Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and fundingopportunities and supervision is available to those wishing to pursue theQualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) About us At Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust,we are working together to deliver outstanding care.

Person Specification Experience Essential A minimum of 4 years of experience working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist within the specified service area Experience of leading in relation to the development and organisation of psychological interventions within a given clinical area Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Neuropsychology as a suitably qualified psychologist to offer clinical placements to trainee Psychologists Training and experience in the application of neuropsychological knowledge across a range of presentations, including organic illness, functional mental health, and physical health Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations across the life span and care settings Has worked as a Chartered Psychologist within this specified service area Experience of multi-agency/multidisciplinary working Therapeutic expertise in working with carers/ families/couples Experience of conducting clinically relevant research Desirable Experience of strategic planning and service development Experience of teaching and training psychologists in a Clinical/Counselling Psychology doctorate training course Additional Criteria Essential Able to meet the travel requirements of the post Desirable Previous publications in either peer reviewed academic or professional journal and/or books Qualifications Essential BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) Post qualification training/ experience in specific, evidence-based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/ or physical health difficulties, across the age span Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council and the BPS Eligible for registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist by the BPS Eligible for registration as a Full Divisional Member of the BPS Division of Neuropsychology.
Eligible for registration as a Practitioner member of the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology Registered with Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
