Ledston, United Kingdom Leeds Community Healthcare Nhs Trust Full time

Job summary We are an exciting service which combines an IAPT-based service with a broader mental well-being support offer based in primary care settings.
The service is delivered as a partnership of NHS and third sector providers which comprises of Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Community Links, Touchstone, Northpoint Wellbeing, Womens Counselling and Therapy Service, and Home-Start Leeds. We exist to provide the best possible care in every community in Leeds and we encourage staff members to be at the heart of operational decisions.
We support flexibility in working patterns as we strive to provide therapies which fit in with the often busy lives of clients.LMWS is committed to ensuring the service reflects the diversity of the population it serves.
We recognise that BME communities are under-represented in the service.
We are therefore especially keen to receive applications from under-represented communities.
This is a core part of our service Vision & Values, as we strive to reflect the communities that we support.
There are multiple roles across the partnership and applicants should be aware that they may be offered a role with any of the following: Leeds Community Healthcare, Touchstone, Community Links and Northpoint.
Applicants should be aware that the training course for this cohort is Bradford University and starts in March 2025.
It is important that applicants are able to attend Bradford university in person from March 2025 and that they do not have any annual leave planned for spring/summer 2025.
The course is intense and whilst there are opportunities to have annual leave, the University is not able to provide places to students who cannot fully commit to the course, especially within the opening six months.
For further information please see the following site: Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners Programme PGCert - University of Bradford Once qualified there will be an opportunity to apply for any vacancies within the service.
Main duties of the job Trainee PWPs will be expected to balance their professional role and their trainee role simultaneously this means that there will be some university work done outside of the working hours.
As a service we pride ourselves on being considerate and realistic with helping students to manage their caseload and studying.
Trainees can expect to shadow those already working as qualified PWPs and to work towards providing the same standard of assessment to clients who present to our service.
In addition to good quality assessments, successful candidates can expect to gain a steadily increasing caseload whereby they are able to provide Guided Self Help (GSH) to clients who have mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety and depression in a clinic.
Trainees are also expected to shadow and facilitate groups and so this provides an exciting opportunity to provide support to many people and support them through their own learning and reflection.
Finally, trainees also provide support via an online platform called Silvercloud.
Trainees are expected to remain vigilant around their clients to be able to support them through changes in their presentation, to assess risk and some other behaviours that challenge and to provide appropriate support including signposting if the clients needs are not best supported by LMWS.
Once qualified PWPs can expect to start to work more independently and to provide one late shift a week working until 7pm; this may be providing assessments, an online group or online GSH.
This supports LMWS to meet the demands of our clients needs.
In addition to this, trainees can expect continuous opportunities for development, time with their team to learn from others and those working within a step 3 capacity and to discuss cases within supervision.
Trainees will ideally have a background in Psychology, mental health or a relevant field of expertise and/or lived experience of anxiety and depression, they will have some university experience as the qualification gained is a post graduate certificate and the university may require a piece of written work to ensure candidates are able to work at such level.
