ROLE TITLE: VERIFICATION & VALIDATION (V&V) ENGINEER REPORTING LINE: The Verification & Validation Engineer will report directly to the Head of Naval Architecture.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: The Naval Architecture Team oversees the design and engineering of floating platforms of Artemis Technologies and integrates the outfitting systems liaising with structural engineers and compliance department.
We believe that verification and validation are crucial for our growth and paves our way to the technological leadership in the decarbonised maritime sector.
THE ROLE: The V&V Engineer will support the Head of Naval Architecture in achieving regulatory certification of ATL eFoiler vessels and systems, as well as achieving reliability aligned with ATL high standards.
Working with the Naval Architecture and Structural Engineering Teams, this role supports the verification and validation of the eFoiler foils structure and components.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES: Support the Head of Naval Architecture by leading the planning, technical definition and execution of verification and validation processes, to achieve regulatory compliance with class and flags, for the EF vessels.
Support & contribute to the products weight & cost reduction road maps with necessary R&D and V&V actions: Material verification and validation (Composite & Metal) hulls & foils.
SFP certification and development.
Lightweight fireproof door.
Comprehensive literature review and advise new materials periodically Test and advise new production methods, techniques in line with IACS and Flag State rules Support the Head of Naval Architecture in establishing the Verification & Validation strategy and plan to support ATLs structural engineering approach: Validation and Verification of eFoiler loads and load cycles.
Attend team and 1-1 meetings and fulfil reporting requirements as required by Artemis Technologies.
Ensure compliance with Artemis Technologies Policies and procedures.
Build good working relationships across Artemis Technologies.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Education/Qualifications and Experience Required: Degree educated in a Mechanical/Structural Engineering based subject or relevant experience.
3+ years experience of mechanical/ structural validation and verification (Drive Train, Actuation Structural, Fatigue, hydraulic systems).
Experience with mechanical systems and their relevant regulations.
(Desirable) In depth knowledge of Electric Vehicle systems.
(Desirable) Key Skills Required: Communication skills: Good report writing skills clear, concise and well structured.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Organising skills: Ability to coordinate with other departments and flag issues.
A focus on delivery to an agreed schedule.
Teamworking skills: Ability to relate well to others, and build co-operative and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally.
