Job summary To work as an integral part of the health centre with a flexible approach within the Facilities Department.
Perform cleaning duties as required in all areas of the Healthcare premises to ensure our standards meet the National Specifications for Cleanliness in the NHS.

The role involves cleaning the health centre in clinical and non-clinical areas.

Job description Job responsibilities The following gives an overview of the key main tasks for this role: To ensure strict adherence to all policies and procedures in relation to cleaning procedures.
Clean all surfaces using appropriate methods to remove dust and debris.
Remove / replace / clean curtains and blinds as necessary.
Clean all hard floors and mop daily.
Empty, clean and replenish waste bins.
Seal waste bags and carry out appropriate waste disposal procedures.
Clean internal glass and ledges.
Clean all sanitary areas.
Maintain equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
Clean patient waiting area furniture.
Replenish consumables paper towels, soap, toilet paper etc.
Ensure the correct storage of all items.
Completion of departmental paperwork as required.
Key responsibilities: Attend departmental meetings as appropriate.
To participate in the Trusts appraisal system, review and personaldevelopment process on an annual basis and in quarterly supervisions.
Undertake training as necessary in line with the development planning process.
To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to GCSE or equivalent standard in English and Maths Desirable Basic Health & Safety certificate Maths and English GCSEs grade C/4 or above NVQ Cleaning Experience Essential Experience of working in a customer focused environment Desirable Experience of working in a healthcare environment Previous experience in Housekeeping/Cleaning/Catering services Skills and Knowledge Essential Ability to work as part of a team Ability to understand and follow instructions Ability to record information accurately Have an understanding of basic Health & Safety principles Ability to remain calm in difficult situations Ability to prioritise own work Smart in appearance with good personal hygiene standards Polite and courteous Understand and maintain confidentiality Flexibility Reliable Desirable An understanding of infection control principles
