We are looking for a dedicated, reliable and proactive Building Pathologist to join our team.
You will be exposed to a number of unique projects throughout the UK, working with heritage organisations through to commercial property managers.
In this role, you will be delivering quality specialist solutions by investigating problems affecting a variety of buildings.
Additionally, it is key you are able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
This person will be required to drive to client sites, and so a full driving licence, valid in the UK is necessary.
This may be supported with the benefits of company cars or a car allowance, dependent upon the individual and site where you are employed.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to): Carrying out building investigations and analysis utilising a range of techniques.
This is a physically active role and may include working at heights, utilising ladders and potentially scaffolding and inspecting small confined spaces Preparing reports with the necessary background research and remedial recommendations, illustrated with photographs, sketch details and CAD plans Providing high quality, professional and timely advice to clients relating to building defects, material condition and performance Attending meetings with clients, their design teams and consultants Following established company procedures and protocols and assisting in the development of new systems to ensure that the company's quality standards are maintained and enhanced Undertaking personal training and development, as discussed with Directors Ensuring confidentiality at all times in all matters relating to any work or communication with the company and clients To be successful in this role, you will: Have a variety of UK construction experience and proven knowledge of design and procurement Have a professional, organised and thorough approach to work which demonstrates an attention to detail Have the ability to take initiative in identifying and undertaking work that needs to be carried out Possess an inquisitive approach to learning and work Have experience of hands on, practical learning Be comfortable working within a team or independently High standards of written and spoken English Preferable qualities Have a Bachelors or Master's Degree in a field relevant to the construction industry and built environment Have achieved or be working towards Chartered Membership of the RIBA, RICS or other professional institutions Knowledge of site operations and management processes Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft 365 Why SOCOTEC?
