Job summary This post is a great development opportunity for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager looking to gain experience and insight into working with adults with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to practice a full range of specialist nursing skills in mental and physical health while developing managerial skills to support the ward manager.
It is an exciting time to join our services, to assist in leading and developing our excellent staff team to continue to provide excellent quality care.

Main duties of the job As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will be supported to develop your leadership skills, participate in, and deliver high quality group and individual treatments and be a core part of the MDT.
There are also opportunities to develop your skills in psychological therapies and sensory approaches.
You will work with the MDT to develop your generic and specialist skills in line with professional and regulatory standards (NICE) The service will provide you with an in-house education program, facilitated reflective practice sessions, supervision, and skill-enhancing workshops.
There are opportunities to participate in clinical research and innovative practice.
In addition, we offer a 5-day induction on commencement in post.
We are keen to support and develop you through a clear career pathway with CPD options and encourage promotional opportunities within the service and the wider Trust.
Professional leadership programs for band 6 nurses are also available through the NHS Academy.

For further information on CPFT, please visit our website at Job description Job responsibilities Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities The poster holder will assist the Ward Manager in the provision of clinical leadership and to be a role model to the 24-hour inpatient team.
Acting on behalf of and to deputise, as directed by the Ward Manager in their absence and provide quality evidence-based nursing advice, support and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting.
Working in conjunction with the Matron to set, maintain and audit clinical standards in adherence to local and national priorities.
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care within agreed parameters, and have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision.
The post holder will be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff, and ensure that issues of equality, diversity and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation.
They will ensure that effective communication pathways exist, and that they act within their sphere of responsibility, managing the clinical area in the absence of the Ward Manager.
Person Specification Education/Qualifications Essential oRegistered Nurse Mental Health (RNMH) or other specialism relating to post such as Registered Nurse Learning Disability (RNLD) or Registered Nurse Children's (RNC) oNMC registration oMentor qualification / ENB 998 or equivalent oEvidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Desirable oPost graduate qualification related to ward specialism oAdditional qualification for specialism Skills and Knowledge Essential oEffective communication skills both verbally and written, including IT literacy (MS Office).
