Job summary We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic GP to join our happy and patient-centred multi-disciplinaryteam in Leicester City South PCN.If you are a newly qualified General Practitioner (within the last two years and not held a substantive post), an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi-disciplinary PCN team.Due to the changes in the ARRS Scheme to introduce General Practitioners we are looking to expand our team by seeking to employ a newly qualified General Practitioner to work alongside our practices and PCN staff.This role is being employed by The Hedges Medical Centre on behalf of Leicester City South PCN.
The sucessful candidate will work across all the PCN practice locations.
Main duties of the job To perform as an autonomous general practitionerworking independently and with other health care professionals to assess,diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary caresettingProvide expert professional advice to patients,carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellenceTo be professionally accountable and responsiblefor all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code ofconduct ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care is paramount.The post holder will need to be capable of independenttravel across the Leicester City South area and work flexibly to meet the needsof the Business.

Leicester City South is focused on reducing health inequalities and building on existing primary care services to enable greater provision of proactive, personalised, co-ordinated and more integrated health and social care for local people close to home.
Job description Job responsibilities In accordance with the practice rota, as agreed,the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of dutiesincluding surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing/authorising repeat prescriptions anddealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionClinically examine and assess patient needs froma physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical careaccordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner,utilising Practice, PCN and local guidelinesRecognise the need for and be able to performand interpret investigatory procedures, including laboratory and radiology.Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriatelyto assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, includinginitiation of effective emergency careEnsure appropriate follow up of patientsSupport patients to adopt health promotionstrategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-careMake professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from otherhealth care workers within the organisationAssess the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreen patients for disease risk factors andearly signs of illnessIn consultation with patients and in line withcurrent practice disease management protocols, develop care plans for healthAdmit or discharge patients to and from thecaseload and refer to other care providers as appropriateRecord clear and contemporaneous consultationnotes to agreed standardsCollect data for audit purposesTo be involved in the provision of education andtraining to GP Registrars and other staffCompile and issue computer-generated acute andrepeat prescriptionsPrescribe in accordance with the practiceprescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateBe aware of your duties and responsibilitiesregarding current legislation and adhere to our policies and procedures onSafeguarding Children and Safeguarding AdultsThe post-holder will be required to visitpatients during surgery time in an emergency if clinically indicated The post-holder may need to undertake On Callsessions and participate in the Enhanced Access ServiceThe post-holder will undertake fair share ofhome visiting sessions per week as allocated Person Specification Qualifications Essential Qualified GP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT) Desirable MRCGP Experience Essential Newly Qualified General Practitioner (under 2 years from qualification) Not previously been substantively employed at a GP Practice, or as a Partner Experience of working in a primary care environment Experience of continued professional development Experience of QOF and clinical audit General understanding of the primary care contract Desirable Experience of medicines management Experience of ICB initiatives Skills Essential Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Strong IT skills - competent in the use of Office and Outlook Clear, polite telephone manner SystmOne user skills Effective time management (planning and organising) Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Excellent interpersonal skills Problem solving and analytical skills Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes Experience with clinical risk management
