Senior Electronics EngineerHarlow, on site full time12-month contract – Inside IR35SC needed (ideal but can start on BPSS)The roleOur client is looking for an experienced and high performing contract Electronics Engineer to join a successful Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area, creating Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market.Skills and experience Experience creating top level Design architecturesExperience testing and verifying requirementsExperience in working with DSP, Micro, Memory devices, ADCs, DACs, Power supplyExperience working with FPGAs and SoC technologiesAbility to understand VHDL codeAble to present technical information clearly and concisely to othersAn openness to learn and try new techniquesAbility to adapt to a dynamic work environment - working independently or with others to overcome obstaclesCapable of analysing and reporting on technical dataEligible or holder of current SC security clearanceDesirable: Experience using the Vivado and Vitis design tools, or equivalentExperience working with the Xilinx chip familyExperience delivering embedded firmware as part of a productKnowledge of Embedded CExperience creating embedded system architecturesFamiliarity with the application of a systems engineering approach across the design and development lifecycleKnowledge of defence engineering / airborne standardsWorking with Model Based System Engineering tools such as Matlab/Simulink ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will support the APNT Team across various programmes (both internally and Customer funded) and will involve the following main duties within the product development:Develop requirements to ensure compliance to the relevant standards.Create and manage architectures for Digital Electronics and firmware (mainly FPGAs)Understand, decompose and verify Design requirementsCreate FPGA design using VHDL and embedded CDefine and perform unit level and sub system level testing for embedded firmwareCreate design documents (HW +Firmware) Create Test DocumentsCreate Firmware Simulation Test ReportsCreate Timing and Power Analysis ReportsWork alongside our embedded system, software and other electronic design engineersPerform technical reviews of the documents and release
