Located in Tattenhall, Cheshire, our expert team delivers full project lifecycle support from feasibility to construction.We are seeking an individual to lead our subsea cable risk practice and the overall GIS discipline, primarily focusing on telecommunications, HVDC/HVAC interconnectors and offshore wind. This key leadership role provides an opportunity for an individual to make a meaningful impact to the energy transition. The individual will work closely within multidisciplinary teams to plan, engineer and construct offshore transmission and wind infrastructure for some of the leading developers and TSO’sThe ideal candidate is an experienced professional capable of excelling at a Principal level, with potential to progress to Associate Director.The position is full-time with flexible working arrangements, based out of our network of RSK offices. Spending time at our Hydrofix Cheshire location driving collaboration and technical development.Key Responsibilities: Technical leadership and development of our subsea cable risk discipline offeringTechnical leadership, development and ownership of our GIS capabilitiesGIS and WebGIS application development for subsea cable, survey management and ground modelling projectsGIS support and development to wider RSK Marine initiatives in fisheries, EIA and blue carbonAuthoring, review and approval of subsea cable planning, routing and cable burial risk assessmentsProducing thought leadership, white papers and technical papers for peer reviewTechnical document reviewsTechnical data QC analysis, gap analysis and presentationAttending Client meetingsAttending industry and sector specific exhibitions and conferencesPerson Specification: A combination of geoscience, geography, GIS/geomatics undergraduate and higher degreesStrong understanding of geoscience data in the marine environmentDemonstrable track record and experience in the subsea cable and broader offshore energy sectorA strong desire for Continued Professional Development and either Chartered, or in the process of doing soAble to develop and advocate for novel technical developmentsCustomer facing, with excellent relationship management skillsExpertise in a broad range of GIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, Global Mapper, QGISExperience in management and analysis of large data in GIS, including the use of SQL databasesRight to work in the UK and preferably also EU Salary & Benefits: Commensurate with experienceFlexible working arrangementsPension & Life AssuranceMembership to professional bodyRegular training and developmentAccess to a range of discounts and benefits platform with RSK Group Full Job Specification attached under Documents for more information on the role and desirable capabilities.#Subsea #GIS #GISLead #Geotechical #HydrofixAbout UsHydroFix is a specialist, UK-based geoscience consultancy supporting renewable developers and contractors working on complex and environmentally sensitive sites throughout North-West Europe.
