Your new companyA great interim opportunity with an established Public Sector organisation in the Bedfordshire area, you will be working for a dynamic organisation committed to delivering efficient and effective financial management services that support better outcomes for communities.Your new roleAs an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the Financial Management Team to produce accurate, timely, and insightful management accounting information. You will assist with planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting processes, ensuring robust financial governance and compliance with Standing Financial Instructions.Key responsibilities include:Preparing and checking monthly financial monitoring reports, including contracts.Assisting with budget maintenance, month-end close, reconciliations, and forecasting.Providing financial advice and support to directorates and budget managers.Analysing variances and resolving queries, including complex transactional details.Supporting annual budget production and year-end audit preparation.Managing recharge invoices and assisting with training for budget managers.What you'll need to succeedEducated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.Previous experience in a busy finance or management accounts team within a large organisation.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications.Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.Excellent communication skills to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.What we are offering Flexible hybrid working arrangements.Interim position Monday to Friday Available for an immediate start Commitment is needed until the end of March 2026.
