This team is crucial in ensuring that the security of all Arden information is world class and ensures that projects can be delivered and the right solutions can be found so that our employees and students can work effectivelyOur IT team is made up of around 60 employees with a vast range of skills from Software Development to IT Operations and IT Security. Our IT Department values employee development and we have lots of great examples of employee progression and promotions within the team.About the Opportunity:We are currently recruiting a Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer to join our expanding Cyber Security team. If so, our Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer role could be for youAs our new Cyber Security Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a member of the Information Security Team and responsible for actively implementing new cyber security controls into the University’s infrastructure; investigating and reporting on attempted and actual breaches; compiling reports and data for incidents as they occur and throughout the incident management process. The role is key in enhancing security measures, improving performance and ensuring end-user satisfaction within Arden University’s IT Infrastructure.About You:To be a good fit for this role, you will have:Essential:Significant Practical experience in applying cyber security protection and detection technologies.Significant hands-on experience in monitoring, managing and updating MS Sentinel, MS Defender and working with SOC engineersStrong IT skills and knowledge including hardware, software, networking infrastructure and cloud servicesSignificant work experience with incident detection, incident response and forensicsExpert knowledge of the followingTechnical aspects of security architecture, including the operation and management of security tools and systems.Skills in applying current and emerging technologies to meet operational needs.Security protocols and principles.Security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, authentication systems, and device encryption.security technologies related to Firewalls, Endpoint Protection (EDR, XDR), DNS, VPN, MFA, DDOS mitigation technologies, networking wired and wireless technologies (such as Cisco Meraki).Desirable:Recognised information security certification e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), CompTIA Security+Experience of Dev/Ops practices including automation, CI & CD Pipelines (e.g. Jenkins)Experience of AWS, especially EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, Cloudfront, Route 53, IAM, CloudWatchWhy Arden:At Arden, you will become a part of a passionate and dedicated team who are committed to removing unnecessary barriers to learning and making education more accessible.
