Main Purpose of the RoleThe HSE Advisor will play a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across multiple sites, including Building Solutions, Defence Building Solutions, FM contracts, and Healthcare projects. The position is primarily focused on construction and refurbishment activities, with approximately 90% of the workload dedicated to these areas. The role requires regional travel and a strong emphasis on engagement, self-management, and effective diary management.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee HSE compliance for contractor employees, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring adherence to VINCI’s health, safety, and environmental protection requirements.Foster and maintain effective relationships with contract teams and the internal HSE Management Team through regular communication and liaison.Produce detailed reports, identify remedial actions, and ensure their effective implementation.Review and, where necessary, update risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.Ensure correct usage of PPE and that all health and safety signage and guards are in place and maintained.Monitor fire precautions and emergency procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards.Ensure the application of CDM Regulations in line with VINCI standards.Support construction projects up to £40 million (e.g., HMP Norwich), as well as refurbishment and minor build projects.Conduct site inspections and contribute to the development of a positive safety culture.Provide options and support for overnight stays when travel is required.Essential Skills and ExperienceStrong background in construction, with experience in CDM temporary works.Ideally, prior experience in Facilities Management (FM).Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong self-management skills.Experience in delivering training is beneficial.QualificationsNEBOSH or equivalent qualification is mandatory.Additional qualifications such as a Diploma or a Construction Certificate are desirable.Security RequirementsCandidates must be able to pass MOD and MOJ security checks.
