Altum Consulting are recruiting for an interim Global Director of Payroll to join a growing technology business based in Central London.The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise, exceptional leadership capabilities, and the ability to partner closely with internal and external partners to build a scalable and efficient global payroll operation.Role:Set the vision for payroll excellence, creating scalable, efficient, and compliant processes across all regions.Serve as a senior advisor to leadership on payroll-related risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.Oversee end-to-end payroll processing across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with local regulations.Build and maintain a robust global payroll governance framework, including controls, audits, and quality standards.Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and technology partners, ensuring high service levels and cost-effective solutions.Partner closely with HR, People Operations, and Finance to align payroll with organisational goals, workforce planning, and compensation strategies.Work with Legal, Tax, and Compliance teams to stay ahead of legislative changes ensuring compliance across all international entities.Provide clear reporting, insights, and analysis to senior leadership, supporting strategic decision-making.Lead global payroll transformation initiatives, including system upgrades, new country launches, process redesign, and automation projects.Design and implement best practices to support rapid business growth and operational scale.Oversee integration of payroll operations during M&A activity, restructuring, or market expansion.You'll be/have:Extensive leadership experience managing large global payroll teams in a complex, high-growth environment.Proven track record overseeing multi-country payrolls, ideally within the tech sector or a similarly fast-paced global organisation.Deep understanding of payroll legislation, compliance, and reporting across multiple international jurisdictions.Demonstrated success building or transforming payroll operations, including systems, processes, and team structures.Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.For further information on this new role please contact Jen McMurray on the attached details.
