Job Title: Investment Accounting AnalystLocation: London (Hybrid working, 3 days in office)Role Type: 6 month contractRole Purpose:To provide Business as Usual ("BAU") and project workload relief to the investment accounting team of Aspen.Our Aspen Values are expected to be reflected in the delivery and performance of every role.Key Responsibilities:Assist accounting team to perform BAU activities monthly and quarterly, including but not limited to:Journal preparation and posting to Company General Ledger systemReconciliation activities among custodians and investment managers and outsourced accountant and queries resolutionsHandle data from outsourced accounting providerHelp with audit queries from AuditorsManage various reports for internal / external reporting within deadlineFX rate testingTo perform SOX testing on financialsProduce various financial disclosure files requiredPreparation for regulatory reportingResolve queries from entity finance teamTo handle and procure data requests from project managers on ongoing projects within the teamInvoice processingPerform other ad hoc tasks as requiredRequirements & Skills:Degree and professional qualification would be desirable (CA, ACA, ACCA, etc.)Experience / understanding of the insurance industry and asset managementHave worked in finance departments in insurance or asset managersBasic knowledge of Lloyd's and London MarketGood understanding of accounting treatment for investment products like fixed income instruments, debt instruments, FX contracts, repurchase agreements, private placementsFamiliar with US GAAP, IFRSExcellent data handling skillsGood exposure to inhouse and outsourced accounting operating modelFast learner with strong work ethicAbout us:Since Aspen was founded in 2002, we have become a leading, diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance company.
