Job Title: Site Maintenance Operative / Site Maintenance Technician (Mandarin Speaker Preferred)Location: Milton Keynes, United KingdomProject Type: Automated Conveyor Belt Sorting System – International Logistics ClientAbout the RoleWe are seeking two Site Maintenance Operatives / Site Maintenance Technicians to support the maintenance and smooth operation of an automated conveyor belt sorting system for a global logistics client. Based at a major warehouse site in Milton Keynes, you will play a key role in ensuring system performance, minimising downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment.Key ResponsibilityPerform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing of the automated conveyor belt system.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimise operational disruption.Carry out repairs and replacements of mechanical components, sensors, belts, and motors.Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they escalate.Support system start-up, shutdown, and testing procedures.Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.Adhere to all health & safety regulations and promote safe working practices.Collaborate with onsite engineers, supervisors, and client representatives.Provide occasional translation or communication support if Mandarin-speaking (optional).RequirementsPrevious experience in maintenance, engineering, or technical operations—ideally within industrial, warehouse, or mechanical environments.Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems, tools, and fault-finding.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Good communication skills; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Eligibility to work in the UK.Willingness to work onsite in a warehouse environment.Desirable Skills Experience with conveyor systems, automation equipment, or logistics machinery.Knowledge of PLC systems, sensors, and motor control (advantageous but not essential).Mandarin language skills (preferred, not required).Mechanical/electrical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).Prior experience in a fast-paced logistics or manufacturing facility.Salary & Benefits Competitive hourly or fixed salary (DOE).Overtime opportunities during peak operational periods.Training provided on the specific conveyor system and site procedures.Onsite parking and access to staff facilities.Opportunity to gain experience working with a major international logistics client.Potential for contract extension or permanent placement depending on performance and project needs.Application ProcessTo apply, please submit:Your CV, including relevant experience.A brief cover message outlining your suitability for the role and availability.Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an initial interview (online or onsite).
